Hello Parents:
We are working with veteran CCHS Softball coach Lisa McGloin, to create a 12U B/C level (can only have players from town or adjacent towns on team) tournament softball team for next spring/summer.  We are very excited about this unique opportunity to align ourselves with Coach McGloin and help continue to build a love of softball and improve skills in our daughters as they approach CCHS.  This program would provide a fun, competitive environment at a much lower cost than full-time club softball, and would be complementary to the in-town team(s) our girls may play on in the spring (Middle-Essex, Middle School). The team will be comprised of 14-15 girls, mostly/entirely from Concord and Carlisle, and compete under the Raiders Softball banner (http://raiderssoftball.com/).  Lisa has a couple of people in mind to coach who formerly played at CCHS. She can also offer support from the Raiders staff/coaches at practice.
The season will start with access to ongoing Raiders practices which happen weekly at facilities in the area (Boxboro, North Reading and Uxbridge).  These will be optional but highly encouraged as there will be a great deal of instruction by highly skilled coaches in all phases of the game.  Once we are outside, we envision practice once a week during the school year at night in Concord, one or two scrimmages in April/May and 3-4 tournaments one in May, two or three in June and possibly one in July in Eastern Massachusetts.  We will finalize this calendar and list of opportunities in the near future.
Details are still firming up, but we ask at this point that you think about whether your daughter would be interested and please respond with a "yes" or "no" to by Monday, December 17.  Once we have a sense of how many girls are interested, we will determine next steps and whether we will need to have evaluations to finalize the roster.
2019 12U CC/Raiders Softball Tournament Team Details
*Jan-March: Indoor practices w/ Raiders
*April/May: Weekly outdoor practices/scrimmages in Concord
*Spring/Summer: 3-4 weekend tournaments in area (likely Memorial Day through late June)
*Team will be comprised of girls from CC, Bedford plus 1-2 others
*Coach will be hired by Raiders Softball
*Cost: TBD, but likely in $750-800 range (uniform will be additional)
We are also happy to discuss any questions you might have.
